So these are the individual cards that I made for this years Art Market! There are 5 cards per pack, each with a creature on it; a star-nosed mole, a spiny caterpillar, a spider crab, a rhinoceros beetle and an armadillo. There are also 5 colors per pack; gold, red, turquoise, violet and dark yellow (the colors were a bit distorted in the upload). Each one is a linocut and was hand pressed! there are 10 sets available at the Illustration table :) Get um while they're hot!
Here's my latest piece from Concepts- it's an album cover for Coconut Records first album Nighttiming. It was also an experiment in the technique of digital over graphite.
So its been brought to my attention that I'm really awful at updating this, so I'm attempting to get better at this by updating now! and hopefully more frequently. This is a work in progress from the summer, I set it aside because I was just experimenting with new methods of color in photoshop (or at least new to me) and I'll probably go back to it over the winter.
SO this was supposed to be for the past weeks Illustration Friday but I didnt read the fine print and missed the date to submit it (I'll be prepared next time!) I still enjoyed trying this new way of working so I thought I'd get back into the habit of posting! So here is my interpretation of 'satellite'. Digital, roughly 6x8 in.
A figure drawing final that I'm pretty late about posting, then again I don't even remember the last time I posted anyhow. It was a frame by frame ball point pen drawing of myself undressing, paying a bit of homage to Edward Muybridge and his photos of people in motion
SO first assignment of Illustration 2 with Malloy is to illustrate the apparently infamous Dan Deacon, a wacky musician from Baltimore. Needless to say I decided, why not go wackier!? Let plug some wires into the guy! ink and water colors.
A continuation of my skull people, I present the Old Cow, a biddie that will retire to the beach in her string bikini regardless of how old, saggy and leathery she gets.
This is a wood burning of the characters that my sketches tend to revolve around, my post-apocalyptic lovelies are wearing the skull of the animal that best represents their personalities and actions. In this piece the Wolf is currently howling to his Sheep (the flock sums up the one character) curled into the fetal position and tuning out his demanding voice.
So I'm gonna start off the rush of posts with a hand lettering assignment I had last semester in Illustration 1, all of these are ink and water color, and the Bearcats is me showing my love for Courtney, who is currently off adventuring in London!
I'm a junior illustration major at Maryland Institute College of Art. This is just a way for me to share a little of my process and work with anyone willing to take a look.
